At i2m Dental, our main aim is to ensure the functionality, comfort, aesthetics, and overall health of your teeth. But unresolved tooth loss (edentulism) can make it far more difficult to achieve these objectives through standard dentistry.

Cosmetic dental Implants are used in cases where Crowns and Bridges are less attractive solutions. Therefore, it requires a proper examination to qualify a patient for Dental Implants, following which a decision is made based mostly on the assessed outcome of such a procedure. The candidate must have sufficient bone and adequately healthy gums to allow dental implant treatment to be successful.

Dental implants are relatively long term treatment for replacing a missing tooth and are considered superior to Dentures. By getting new teeth implants, you would not have to suffer from tooth loss due to missing teeth.

Unchecked tooth loss can affect:

  • Your smile and overall facial structure.

  • Your ability to bite and chew food.

  • Your diction.

  • The alignment of your remaining teeth; teeth will shift and move in order to account for the additional gaps in your mouth.

  • Your ability to maintain good oral hygiene, as it becomes harder to clean open spaces completely.

  • Bone loss in the jaw due to lack of stimulation at the roots.

Unfortunately, temporary treatment options such as dentures and bridges cannot fully resolve the varied impacts of edentulism. In these cases, the artificial teeth implant surgeries performed by i2m Dental specialists offer a far more effective solution for restoring the appearance and functionality of your teeth.

Restoring Strength and Stability to Your

Teeth with Dental Implant Surgery

Across the country, millions of Americans suffer from the varied impacts of tooth decay, periodontal disease, and edentulism (tooth loss). These dental concerns can cause a number of related issues from anxiety and social embarrassment to difficulties with eating or speaking, and in worst case scenarios severe pain, inflammation, and abscesses. From years, the options for tooth replacement have been limited to temporary solutions like bridges and dentures, but over the past few decades, dental implant surgery has become the most sought after treatment for damaged and missing teeth.

What is Dental Implant Surgery?

Dental implants are permanent tooth replacements that are inserted directly into the jawbone with the help of titanium metal attachments With time, these attachments bond with your natural bone structure (a process known as osseointegration) mimicking the roots of your natural teeth. In such situations, tooth implant specialists attach a custom-fitted and matched crown to the stable underlying structure for completing the dental implant process. The result is a strong, seamlessly integrated replacement tooth that looks and functions identically to your natural teeth.

Our skilled dental implant specialists in Hyattsville, MD and Silver Springs have years of experience performing successful dental implant surgeries for patients facing a wide range of oral health problems. When you work with us you get the assurance of high-quality, professional care that is specifically tailored to your requirements. Whether you’re looking for a cost-effective tooth replacement or a more comprehensive course of treatment, we will identify the best dental implants for you.

The Benefits of Dental Implant Surgery?

Without proper stimulation, your jawbone will begin to lose functional mass. For every tooth you lose through damage or infection, the extent of this bone loss will increase. False teeth implants are rooted directly into your jawbone and perform almost identically to your natural teeth. With an appropriate implant in place, you can protect against the possibility of bone loss and decay in the surrounding teeth.

Prevent Bone Loss

Unlike dental implants, dentures and bridges are not secured to your teeth. These oral applications can easily adjust and shift, especially when you attempt to eat dense foods. After dental implant surgery, you have the confidence to bite and chew naturally without having to worry about the stability of your tooth replacement. The ability to bite and chew food more thoroughly also contributes to better digestion and overall health.

Enhance Bite

Your teeth are integral to the overall structure of your face. When you begin to lose teeth, the nose, cheeks, and lips can sag and sink inwards due to a lack of underlying support. Many of our patients have been surprised at how their dental implant services have managed to restore the natural youthfulness of their appearance.

Improve Facial Structure

Dental implant surgeries have an effective success rate of 95%. At i2M, our dental implant specialists use the latest techniques and technologies to ensure that you’re satisfied with the results of your tooth replacements. With proper maintenance, a high-quality dental implant from our oral surgeon can last you a lifetime.

i2m Dental Implant Surgery

Dental implants are permanent tooth replacements that are inserted directly into the jawbone with the help of titanium metal attachments. These anchors act as substitutes for your natural tooth roots. With time, these attachments bond with your natural bone structure (a process known as osseointegration), usually this will take place over a period of 6 weeks or more. One the surgical site has fully healed; your dental implant dentist will attach a custom-fitted and matched crown to this stable underlying structure to complete the dental implant process. The result is a strong, seamlessly integrated replacement tooth that looks and performs identically to your natural teeth.

i2m Dental Tooth Implant Surgery Process

Consultation

In order to determine the best dental implants for your needs, your oral surgeon will initially take you through a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. At i2M we use 3D X-Rays to assess the density of your jawbone and whether additional bone grafts are required. We may also take impressions and digital photos of your mouth to determine how many fake tooth implants will be used and how they will be positioned to ensure optimal results.

Planning

In order to determine the best permanent teeth implants for your needs, your oral surgeon will initially take you through a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. At i2M, we use 3D X-Rays to assess the density of your jawbone and whether additional bone grafts are required. We may also take impressions and digital photos of your mouth to determine how many implants will be used and how they will be positioned to ensure optimal results.

Bone Augmentations

At this stage, our best dental implant specialists will perform any necessary grafting required to support the stability and strength of your dental implant. A sinus lift is required in situations where lowered sinus membranes are raised in order to create more space for dental implants in the upper jaw. Additional bone material is then grafted to this area to create a more secure structure for dental implant surgery.

Dental Implants

Our oral surgeon will perform the procedure under local anesthetic at our dental implant clinic in Hyattsville or Silver Springs. Procedures can take anywhere from 30 minutes for a single tooth implant to multiple hours for a more complex tooth replacement. After completion, our duty is to ensure that the implant is fully integrated into the surrounding bone and that the implant area has completely healed before permanent attachments are added. This helps to ensure the future success of the surgery.

At this stage, you will be able to wear temporary dentures. Your diet may be somewhat restricted while the bonding process takes place. We will be in constant communication throughout this stage, so you can be assured of the best results.

Tooth Replacement

After the implant site has fully healed, we will uncover the roots and connect your permanent artificial teeth. Once the dental tooth implant surgery is completed, you can expect your new prosthetics to last comfortably for decades with proper cleaning and routine dentist visits.
